The Best Thanksgiving Crafts for 2-Year-Olds – Crafts are such a fun way to get toddlers involved in holidays. We can educate them through Thanksgiving books, but sometimes actions speak louder than words.

It’s amazing how much creativity comes out when doing a craft whether it be painting or placing tissue paper, feathers, or other items on paper. You never know until they try, right?

I’ve included some of the best Thanksgiving Crafts for 2-year-olds out there and your toddler is bound to love them all!

But first, I think it’s important to remember some things when making crafts with someone so young.

If you have this toddler craft thing down,  just scroll down below the picture and enjoy the crafts!

Some tips for crafting with a 2-year-old:

Let Your Toddler Do As Much as Possible on Their Own

It’s easy to try and take over their craft to make it look perfect, but 2-year-olds want to be independent and this is a great way of letting them.

Set Up an Easy and Cheap Crafting Station

I use this reusable plastic tablecloth and wipe it off each time the craft is done.

Cover Them Up With a Toddler Art Smock

Nothing is worse than spending an hour after the craft trying to get paint out of their clothes.

We specifically use this Crayola Art Smock. We’ve had it for a year and a half and plan to buy the same one when my son is old enough to wear it.

If Your Toddler Is Not In The Mood, They’re Not in The Mood

Don’t push craft time. It doesn’t make it fun for anybody.

Keep all of the supplies for another day, and honestly next year if you need to. Your future self will love you for less prep.

Do Crafts They Already Love

These crafts are awesome, but if your 2-year-old loves painting, don’t pick the project with paper plates and construction paper.

Gear your crafts around what you know your toddler likes. If you find your toddler uninterested in the craft, spice it up by adding something they like.

I can’t tell you how many random projects have stickers ALL over them because my daughter is obsessed.

I even bought these seasonal stickers for this very reason so at least they match what we’re doing. They have every major holiday included, so I always have some on hand.

It won’t turn out perfect and it will be messy, but they will be so proud of how it turns out.

So even if your Thanksgiving turkey or scarecrow looks more like a bunch of shapes or oddly a dinosaur, let it happen. That smile of their completed work cannot be replaced.
