Our Big Gender Reveal!

 

Instead of an official bump update this week, I decided to write a special post.

 

 

 

Our big gender reveal happened last week! We held a gender reveal party for our family and posted it on Facebook live as we revealed the sex. I can say it’s so much easier to do it this way than worrying about how you will do a reveal for anyone not at the party.

We did the same Old Wives Tales we did when I was pregnant with our daughter. With my daughter, they were all girl, except the Chinese Calendar and Balance said boy. Here is what it showed this time.

So it must be a girl, right? You will see. We bought a gender reveal kit from Poof There It is! that had 2 powder cannons. We used my husband’s brother to keep everything a secret, even from us. It all worked until about 5 seconds before we shot off the cannons. There was a tiny bit of powder on mine. I showed it to my husband, then we shot off the cannons. It was a little disappointing to see it before we shot off the cannons, but it was a little intimate moment where we got to know before everyone else. So what did we have?

 

 

 

That’s right! We are having a little baby boy and per the ultrasound picture we saw afterward, there is no denying it! Although the Old Wives Tales were wrong, we actually felt like we were having a boy. The heartbeat was MUCH lower than my daughter’s and I just feel very different from my first pregnancy.

Now it’s time to stock up on boy clothes since all we have are girl things. I’ve already started shopping for baby clothes and let me tell you, shopping for a boy is SO much different than shopping for a girl! There are so many obnoxious yellow outfits and obviously no pink glittery onesies.
