Almost halfway there!! We had our ultrasound this week and they were able to tell if the baby is a boy or a girl. The results are currently in an envelope for us to find out at our gender reveal next week! The baby seems to be growing perfectly and measuring around 11 oz. with its feet measuring almost an inch already! Here’s how the rest of week 19 went with baby being the size of a mango.

A Few Week 19 Highlights

Activity Level

I’ve decided to push through my lower back and sciatica pain and keep working out as long as it doesn’t get worse.

This week

Days of Strength Training: 1

So my plan to work out was doing well. I did my first workout on Wednesday with intentions to work out Friday again. Definitely forgot to work out that day, so decided Saturday night would work. Of course, I start coming down with a head cold Saturday night. I look to get back into it once this head cold disappears.

Days of Other Workouts: 1

1 Nature Trail walk to see the fairy gardens

Weight

Pre-pregnancy: +6lbs

This week: +.8lbs

Here is my week 19 pregnancy bump update! I am in the second trimester and telling you all about my pregnancy cravings and symptoms. Find out when our gender reveal is and follow along with these bump progression pics! Symptoms

I’m hungry!

I am still hungry all the time! I’m trying to eat healthier when I am wanting junk food, but somehow I always end back up with chocolate. I guess it’s just a girl thing (or because I’ve always been obsessed with chocolate).

Lower Back Pain

After my first work out in a few weeks, my back actually felt better! It’s not 100% but am feeling much better than I did in previous weeks. I am looking forward to getting back to my workout routine with less pain starting next week.

Head Cold

This is officially the first time I have been sick while I’ve been pregnant. Ever. My first pregnancy I was very lucky I didn’t get sick at all (I was sick 6 times the 2 months before I got pregnant, so I guess it evened out).

I’ve been struggling to see what I can take for congestion and sinus pressure but have been taking Emergen-C to boost my immune system and Tylenol to try to relieve some of the pain.

Fingers crossed this subsides quickly.

Emotional

Pregnancy hormones have been on a full swing this past week. I get teary-eyed at a lot, like while watching Kids Baking Championship, Friends, Big Brother, you name it. I also have also gotten emotional when I saw a new stretch mark pop up. They say they’re genetic, but I will always try everything I can to stop them from coming on. I honestly blame my small frame for them.

Maternity Clothes

I’m officially in maternity clothes! My bump is too big that I can no longer do the maternity pants trick. I’ve invested in some new jeans that are more fitting than last pregnancy. I am working hard to feel as normal as possible this pregnancy and not just “live with it” until I have the baby like last time. I think that’s a big factor in how this pregnancy is going compared to the first time around. I feel more like myself and in control.

I had never bought clothes online before, but maternity clothes are limited in stores. You walk into Kohls and they have a small selection, into Old Navy and your store doesn’t carry maternity. It’s just very frustrating. Now I buy online and it’s so nice with free returns when something doesn’t fit. I recommend the Target website and Pink Blush Maternity for maternity clothes. If you haven’t already, buy some nice maternity pajama pants. They are so comfy for just relaxing around the house!

Cravings and Aversions

Cravings
  • Still everything sweet. Oreos and Hershey’s chocolate bars have been a weakness of mine. I am now proportioning myself to 4 Oreos in a sitting instead of taking the whole package with me.
  • Stouffers Mac and Cheese. I still eat it about twice a week.
  • Donuts. I am a sucker for fried cakes this time of year and every place I go has them!

What I eat to try to curb the cravings:

  • Frozen grapes
  • Clementines

Sharing is caring!

While I don't miss being pregnant, I do miss typing up bump dates! haha I'm also quite jealous of those mamas who have had cravings. I had next to no cravings my entire pregnancy!

I am actually jealous you had no cravings Keating! Sweets are my weakness at all times and it amplifies during pregnancy. I gain too much weight from it every time!

You look adorable! I bet from the back you still can't even tell that you're pregnant.

Yes, you can't right now Amy! It makes me pretty excited to stick with being more active this pregnancy. I gained 55lbs my first pregnancy and just blew up. This time around I'm doing things different!

Very exciting!! I already crave chocolate too pregnant or not lol

Samantha

Me too Lia! I'm actually trying to convince myself not to get up and eat a Hershey Nugget right now! It's dark chocolate with almonds, so I mean that's healthy right?

I’ve never had a frozen grape I need to try ASAP! Your doing great mama keep it up!

Samantha

Friday 28th of September 2018

Thanks Shanophia! I had heard so much about them and decided to finally try them this pregnancy. You're forced to eat them slow because they're so cold, which makes it a nice long snack where you don't think about other food!

Drinking lots and lots of water will help with the stretch marks. You got this! And I hope you're feeling better soon.

Thank you Tallary! I did hear that from someone else recently too! I am trying to drink MUCH more water now.
